Hello everyone, here’s my latest trading idea on the Japanese Yen (JPY). First, a quick note: this analysis is based on a futures chart. If you’re trading CFDs or Forex, you’d need to go long, as I’m looking for a short on JPY here. This also means the USD is likely to appreciate against the JPY.
My indicators are showing a clear sell signal, suggesting that a counter-movement is very close. Additionally, retail traders are buying heavily, and since they tend to get it wrong, this strengthens my bearish bias on JPY.
My open interest indicator isn’t showing as strong a selling pressure as I’d like, but it’s not bad—there’s some selling happening. I’m hoping that once the data updates, it’ll reflect more institutional sellers, the ones who truly move the market.
In terms of valuation, the JPY is significantly overvalued, which supports my case for a short. Seasonality is also in my favor, with historical data showing April as a month of highs for JPY, hinting at a potential reversal.

Hola a todos, aquí les comparto mi nueva idea de trading en el yen japonés (JPY). Primero, una aclaración: este análisis está basado en un gráfico de futuros. Si quisieran operar CFDs o en Forex, tendrían que ir en largo, ya que aquí estoy buscando una venta (short) en el JPY. Esto también implica que el USD se apreciará frente al JPY.
Mis indicadores muestran una señal clara de venta, lo que indica que está muy cerca un movimiento en contra. Además, los traders retail están comprando demasiado, y como ellos suelen equivocarse, esto refuerza mi sesgo bajista en el JPY.
Mi indicador de open interest no me muestra una presión de venta tan fuerte como me gustaría, pero no está mal—hay algo de venta. Espero que, cuando se actualice la información y mi indicador, pueda reflejar más vendedores institucionales, quienes realmente mueven el mercado.
En cuanto a la valuación, el JPY está bastante sobrevalorado, lo que me da más confianza para confirmar esta venta. La estacionalidad también juega a mi favor, mostrando que abril suele ser un mes de máximos para el JPY, lo que sugiere un posible giro.
