A volatility and participation aware Supertrend that automatically widens or tightens its bands based on where current volume sits inside its recent distribution. The goal is simple: fewer whipsaws when activity surges, faster reaction when the tape is quiet.
What it does
Calculates a standard Supertrend framework from an ATR on a volume weighted price source.
Measures current volume against its recent percentile and converts that context into a dynamic ATR multiplier.
Widens bands when volume is unusually high to reduce chop. Tightens bands when volume is unusually low to catch turns earlier.
Paints candles, draws the active Supertrend line and optional bands, and prints clear Long and Short signal markers.
Why volume percentile
Fixed ATR multipliers assume all bars are equal. They are not. When participation spikes, price swings expand and a static band gets sliced.
Percentiles place the current bar inside a recent distribution. If volume is in the top slice, the Supertrend allows more room. If volume is in the bottom slice, it expects smaller noise and tightens.
This keeps the same playbook usable across busy sessions and sleepy ones without constant manual retuning.
How it works
Volume distribution - A rolling window computes the Pth percentile of volume. Above that is flagged as high volume. A lower reference percentile marks quiet bars.
Dynamic multiplier - Start from a Base Multiplier. If bar is high volume, scale it up by a function of volume-to-average and a Sensitivity knob. If bar is low volume, scale it down. Smooth the result with an EMA to avoid jitter.
VWMA source - The price input for bands is a short volume weighted moving average of close. Heavy prints matter more.
ATR envelope - Compute ATR on your length. UpperBasic = VWMA + Multiplier x ATR. LowerBasic = VWMA - Multiplier x ATR.
Trailing logic - The final lines trail price so they only move in a direction that preserves Supertrend behavior. This prevents sudden flips from transient pokes.
Direction and signals - Direction flips when price crosses through the relevant trailing line. SupertrendLong and SupertrendShort mark those flips. The plotted Supertrend is the active trailing side.
Inputs and what they change
Volume Lookback - Window for percentile and average. Larger window = stabler percentile, smaller = snappier.
Volume Percentile Level - Threshold that defines high volume. Example 70 means top 30 percent of recent bars are treated as high activity.
Volume Sensitivity - Gain from volume ratio to the dynamic multiplier. Higher = bands expand more when volume spikes.
VWMA Source Length - Smoothing of the volume weighted price source for the bands.
ATR Length - Standard ATR window. Larger = slower, smaller = quicker.
Base Multiplier - Core band width before volume adjustment. Think of this as your neutral volatility setting.
Multiplier Smoothing - EMA on the dynamic multiplier. Reduces back and forth changes when volume oscillates around the threshold.
Show Supertrend on chart - Toggles the active line.
Show Upper Lower Bands - Draws both sides even when inactive. Good for context.
Paint candles according to Trend - Colors bars by trend direction.
Show Long and Short Signals - Prints 𝕃 and 𝕊 markers at flips.
Colors - Choose your long and short palette.
Reading the plot
Supertrend line - Thick line that hugs price from above in downtrends and from below in uptrends. Its distance breathes with volume.
Bands - Optional upper and lower rails. Useful to see the inactive side and judge how wide the envelope is right now.
Signals - 𝕃 prints when the trend flips long. 𝕊 prints when the trend flips short.
Candle colors - Quick bias read at a glance when painting is enabled.
Typical workflows
Trend following - Use 𝕃 flips to initiate longs and ride while bars remain colored long and price respects the lower trailing line. Mirror for shorts with 𝕊 and the upper trailing line. During high volume phases the line will give more room, which helps stay in the move.
Pullback adds - In an established trend, shallow tags toward the active line after a high volume expansion can be add points. The dynamic envelope adjusts to the session so your add distance is not fixed to a stale volatility regime.
Mean reversion filter - In quiet tape the multiplier contracts and flips come earlier. If you prefer fading, watch for quick toggles around the bands when volume percentile remains low. In high volume, avoid fading into the widened line unless you have other strong reasons.
Notes on behavior
High volume bar: the percentile gate opens, volRatio > 1 powers up the multiplier through the Sensitivity lever, bands widen, fewer false flips.
Low volume bar: multiplier contracts, bands tighten, flips can happen earlier which is useful when you want to catch regime changes in quiet conditions.
Smoothing matters: both the price source (VWMA) and the multiplier are smoothed to keep structure readable while still adapting.
Quick checklist
If you see frequent chop and today feels busy: check that volume is above your percentile. Wider bands are expected. Consider letting the trend prove itself against the expanded line before acting.
If everything feels slow and you want earlier entries: percentile likely marks low volume, so bands tighten and 𝕃 or 𝕊 can appear sooner.
If you want more or fewer flips overall: adjust Base Multiplier first. If you want more reaction specifically tied to volume surges: raise Volume Sensitivity. If the envelope breathes too fast: raise Multiplier Smoothing.
What the signals mean
SupertrendLong - Direction changed from non-long to long. 𝕃 marker prints. The active line switches to support below price.
SupertrendShort - Direction changed from non-short to short. 𝕊 marker prints. The active line switches to resistance above price.
Trend color - Bars painted long or short help validate context for entries and management.

Volatility Signals (Vortex & Prime Signals):

Exit/Entry Signals (circle ⌾): Are activated when the price stays outside the Vortex bands, indicating an extreme extension of volatility. These can be interpreted as potential reversal or profit-taking zones.

Volume Analysis (Volume Bar Colors):

How to Use the Script

McClellan Oscillator: Difference between fast (default 19) and slow (default 39) EMAs of net advances (advances - declines).
Momentum: 10-day change in 50-day MA breadth percentage.
Trend Analysis: Counts consecutive rising days in breadth to detect upward trends.
Breadth Thrust (Zweig): 10-day EMA of advances/total issues crossing from below a bottom level (default 40) to above a top level (default 61.5). Can use S&P or NYSE data.
Divergences: Compares S&P 500 price highs/lows with breadth or McClellan over a lookback period (default 20) to detect positive (bullish) or negative (bearish) divergences.
Market States: Determined by breadth levels relative to thresholds, trend direction, and McClellan conditions (e.g., strong bullish if above green threshold, rising, and McClellan supportive).
Actions: Prioritized logic (0-10) selects an action like "BUY" or "AVOID LONGS" based on signals, states, and conditions. Higher priority (e.g., capitulation at 10) overrides lower ones.
Alerts: Triggered on new occurrences of key conditions, such as breadth thrust, divergences, state changes, etc.
Input Parameters
The indicator offers customization through grouped inputs, but the use of defaults is encouraged.
Usage Notes

2. State confirmation: During expansion (Diff > 0), prioritize Green/Red for aligned thrust; treat Yellow/Blue as cautionary/contrarian.
3. RSI on Diff: Use OB/OS and crossovers for timing entries/exits or for confirming/negating expansion strength.
Alerts:
• Diff crosses above/below 0
• Average Diff crosses above/below 0
• RSI(Diff) crosses above OB / below OS
• State changes: GREEN / RED / YELLOW / BLUE
Notes & limitations:
• VWAP is session-anchored and best on intraday data. If not applicable on the selected calculation TF, the script automatically falls back to EMA.
• Defaults (SMA(20) for BB/KC, multipliers 2.0, SMA(5) Average Diff, original trend coloring and bar painting) preserve the original appearance.
• RSI on Diff is plotted in the same pane for a compact workflow; you can hide it or split into a separate indicator if desired.

Purpose
Auto Channel finds the single best parallel price channel from recent price action and keeps it updated in real time. It uses ZigZag pivots to build candidate channels, scores each candidate for quality, then plots the winner. When price closes outside the channel, the script flags a breakout and can fire alerts.
How it works
1. ZigZag pivots
The script uses TradingView’s TradingView/ZigZag/7 library to generate a stream of swing highs and lows based on a percentage reversal threshold and a leg depth. These pivots are the only points the channel logic evaluates, which keeps the search fast and focused on structure rather than noise.
2. Channel candidates
From the most recent pivots, the script forms all combinations of two swing highs and two swing lows.
It computes a slope for the high line and a slope for the low line and requires that they be nearly parallel within a user-defined tolerance.
3. Quality scoring and selection
For every valid candidate, the script checks the recent pivot segments against the trial channel and computes:
Inside ratio: fraction of tested pivots that sit fully inside the channel after applying the tolerance buffer.
Violation sum: total magnitude of the breaches for any pivots outside the channel.
Current width: distance between upper and lower lines at the current bar.
The “best” channel is chosen by:
1. highest inside ratio
2. then widest current width
3. then smallest violation sum
4. Plot and projection
The upper and lower lines are anchored to the chosen pivot pairs and extend to the left. The script also projects each line to the current bar to compute the live upper and lower channel prices. Those levels drive the breakout checks and alerts.
5. Breakouts and alerts
A breakout is detected when the bar closes above the projected upper line or closes below the projected lower line, after applying the tolerance buffer. Triangle markers highlight fresh breakouts, and you can enable alert conditions to automate notification or strategy handoff.

Trend channels
In a steady trend, a high inside ratio with a moderate width often highlights the dominant channel. Consider trend entries near the lower line in an uptrend or near the upper line in a downtrend, with exits or stops beyond the opposite boundary.
Breakout trades
Combine the channel breakout alert with volume or a separate momentum filter. The tolerance input helps avoid false triggers from small wicks.
Tuning for timeframe and symbol
• Faster markets or lower timeframes usually benefit from a larger ZigZag percentage and a smaller pivot count.
• Slower markets or higher timeframes can use more pivots and a tighter slope difference to enforce cleaner geometry.
Notes and limitations
Channels are derived from ZigZag pivots. If your ZigZag settings change, the detected channel will also change.
The script plots only the single best channel at any time to keep the chart clean.
Breakout markers appear on confirmed bars. For historical bars, markers appear only where a breakout would have been confirmed at that time.

FAQ
Why do I not see any channel sometimes?
There may not be a valid pair of highs and lows that pass the slope, inside ratio, and tolerance checks. Loosen the constraints by increasing Max slope difference, lowering Minimum inside ratio, or increasing the ZigZag percentage.
The channel looks too narrow or too wide?
Adjust Number of recent pivots and Minimum inside ratio. A higher inside ratio tends to favor cleaner, sometimes wider channels. A lower ratio may admit narrower, more reactive channels.
How can I reduce false breakout alerts?
Increase Max price tolerance outside channel to ignore small wicks. Add a volume or momentum confirmation in your personal alert workflow.

Description :
This futures dashboard gives you quick glance of all “major” futures prices and percentage changes. The text color and trends are based on your configured moving average type and length. The dashboard will display LONG in green text when the configure MA is trending higher and SHORT in red when the configured MA is trending lower. The dashboard also includes the VIX futures roll yield and VIX futures status of Contango or Backwardation.
I have included the indicator twice on the sample chart to illustrate different table settings. I also included an 8 period WMA overlay on the price chart since this is the default of the dashboard. (The Moving Average color change is another one of my indicators titled “UM EMA SMA WMA HMA with Directional Color Change”)
Defaults and Configuration :
The default MA type is the Weighted Moving Average, (WMA) with a daily setting of 8. Choices include WMA, SMA, and EMA. The table location defaults to the upper right corner in landscape mode. It can also be set to “flip” to portrait mode. I have added the table to the chart twice to illustrate the table orientations.
Table location, orientation, timeframe, moving average type and length are user-configurable. The configured dashboard timeframe is independent of the chart timeframe. Percentage changes and Moving Averages are based on the configured dashboard timeframe.
Alerts :
Alerts can be configured on the directional change of the dashboard moving average. For example, if the daily 8 period weighted moving average begins trending higher it will turn from red to green. This color change would fire a LONG alert. A color trend change of the weighted moving average from green to red would fire a SHORT alert. Alerts are disabled by default but can be set for any or all of the futures contracts included.
Suggested Uses :
If you follow or trade futures, add this dashboard indicator to your chart layout. Configure your favorite moving average. Use this to quickly see where all the major futures are trading. This saved me from thumbing through the CNBC app on my phone.
One thing I do is to “stretch” moving average to a smaller timeframe. For example, if you like the 8 period WMA on the daily, try the 192 WMA on the hourly. ( The daily 8 period WMA is roughly a 192 WMA on an hourly chart) This can smooth out some of the violent price action and give better entries/exits.
Setup a FUTURES indicator template. I do this with the dashboard and couple other of my favorite indicators.
