Swing Trend AnalysisIntroducing the Swing Trend Analyzer: A Powerful Tool for Swing and Positional Trading
The Swing Trend Analyzer is a cutting-edge indicator designed to enhance your swing and positional trading by providing precise entry points based on volatility contraction patterns and other key technical signals. This versatile tool is packed with features that cater to traders of all timeframes, offering flexibility, clarity, and actionable insights.
Key Features:
1. Adaptive Moving Averages:
The Swing Trend Analyzer offers multiple moving averages tailored to the timeframe you are trading on. On the daily chart, you can select up to four different moving average lengths, while all other timeframes provide three moving averages. This flexibility allows you to fine-tune your analysis according to your trading strategy. Disabling a moving average is as simple as setting its value to zero, making it easy to customize the indicator to your needs.
2. Dynamic Moving Average Colors Based on Relative Strength:
This feature allows you to compare the performance of the current ticker against a major index or any symbol of your choice. The moving average will change color based on whether the ticker is outperforming or underperforming the selected index over the chosen period. For example, on a daily chart, if the 21-day moving average turns blue, it indicates that the ticker has outperformed the selected index over the last 21 days. This visual cue helps you quickly identify relative strength, a key factor in successful swing trading.
3. Visual Identification of Price Contractions:
The Swing Trend Analyzer changes the color of price bars to white (on a dark theme) or black (on a light theme) when a contraction in price is detected. Price contractions are highlighted when either of the following conditions is met: a) the current bar is an inside bar, or b) the price range of the current bar is less than the 14-period Average Daily Range (ADR). This feature makes it easier to spot price contractions across all timeframes, which is crucial for timing entries in swing trading.
4. Overhead Supply Detection with Automated Resistance Lines:
The indicator intelligently detects the presence of overhead supply and draws a single resistance line to avoid clutter on the chart. As price breaches the resistance line, the old line is automatically deleted, and a new resistance line is drawn at the appropriate level. This helps you focus on the most relevant resistance levels, reducing noise and improving decision-making.
5. Buyable Gap Up Marker: The indicator highlights bars in blue when a candle opens with a gap that remains unfilled. These bars are potential Buyable Gap Up (BGU) candidates, signaling opportunities for long-side entries.
6. Comprehensive Swing Trading Information Table:
The indicator includes a detailed table that provides essential data for swing trading:
a. Sector and Industry Information: Understand the sector and industry of the ticker to identify stocks within strong sectors.
b. Key Moving Averages Distances (10MA, 21MA, 50MA, 200MA): Quickly assess how far the current price is from key moving averages. The color coding indicates whether the price is near or far from these averages, offering vital visual cues.
c. Price Range Analysis: Compare the current bar's price range with the previous bar's range to spot contraction patterns.
d. ADR (20, 10, 5): Displays the Average Daily Range over the last 20, 10, and 5 periods, crucial for identifying contraction patterns. On the weekly chart, the ADR continues to provide daily chart information.
e. 52-Week High/Low Data: Shows how close the stock is to its 52-week high or low, with color coding to highlight proximity, aiding in the identification of potential breakout or breakdown candidates.
f. 3-Month Price Gain: See the price gain over the last three months, which helps identify stocks with recent momentum.
7. Pocket Pivot Detection with Visual Markers:
Pocket pivots are a powerful bullish signal, especially relevant for swing trading. Pocket pivots are crucial for swing trading and are effective across all timeframes. The indicator marks pocket pivots with circular markers below the price bar:
a. 10-Day Pocket Pivot: Identified when the volume exceeds the maximum selling volume of the last 10 days. These are marked with a blue circle.
b. 5-Day Pocket Pivot: Identified when the volume exceeds the maximum selling volume of the last 5 days. These are marked with a green circle.
The Swing Trend Analyzer is designed to provide traders with the tools they need to succeed in swing and positional trading. Whether you're looking for precise entry points, analyzing relative strength, or identifying key price contractions, this indicator has you covered. Experience the power of advanced technical analysis with the Swing Trend Analyzer and take your trading to the next level.

Volume Insignts AnalyzerDescription:
The Volume Insight Analyzer is an advanced Pine Script designed for traders who want a comprehensive view of volume dynamics on their charts. This script combines multiple volume-based indicators to help identify key trading opportunities, including significant volume days, volume dry-ups, and pocket pivots.
Key Features:
VDU (Volume Dry-Up) Detection: Automatically identifies and marks days when the volume is significantly below its moving average, helping to spot potential breakout or breakdown points. Customizable volume thresholds allow for tailored analysis based on your trading strategy. The Volume Dry-Up label appears when the volume is substantially below its average level and the price is near a key moving average. This condition indicates a period of equilibrium between supply and demand, suggesting a potential low-risk entry point for traders.
Pocket Pivot Analysis using 5 and 10 Length Pocket Pivots: Highlights days with exceptionally high volume compared to recent history, indicating potential pocket pivots. Visual markers on the chart and volume bars color-coded for 5 and 10-day lengths. Pocket pivot points are identified when the volume on a given day exceeds the maximum volume observed over the past several days. Specifically, a 5-day pocket pivot point is marked when today's volume surpasses the highest selling volume of the last 5 days. A cluster of 5-day pocket pivot points within a base is a strong indicator of stock strength. Similarly, a 10-day pocket pivot point following a Volume Dry-Up (VDU) suggests a potential entry opportunity. Moreover, a pre-existing cluster of 5-day pocket pivot points before a 10-day pocket pivot point provides greater conviction in the trade.
Volume Moving Averages: Set different lengths for primary and secondary moving averages to track volume trends over daily, weekly, and monthly timeframes. Options to display moving average lines on the volume chart.
Volume Visualization:
a. Major and Minor Volume Bars: Option to display bars that are either above or below average volume levels. Adjustable settings to show or hide these bars based on user preference.
b. Volume Bar Coloring: Volume bars are color-coded based on significant volume thresholds, including green for bullish signals, red for bearish signals, and orange for volume dry-ups.
Volume Metrics Table: A customizable table that displays real-time volume metrics including Relative Volume (RVOL), Turnover, and the number of high volume days. The table can be oriented horizontally or vertically and styled according to your theme preferences.
Visual Indicators:
a) Volume Dry-Up (VDU) Labels: Clearly marked VDU events with textual annotations on the chart.
b) Bullish and Bearish Arrows: Arrows indicating potential bullish or bearish closes based on volume analysis, enhancing decision-making.
Customization Options:
a) Dark and Light Theme Support: Toggle between dark and light themes to match your chart settings.
b) Adjustable Parameters: Easily configure input settings such as volume thresholds, MA lengths, and table display options to fit your trading style.
How to Use:
Set Parameters: Adjust the script settings such as volume thresholds, moving average lengths, and display preferences according to your analysis needs.
Analyze Volume Patterns: Use the indicators and visual markers provided by the script to identify significant volume patterns and potential trading signals.
Monitor Metrics: Refer to the volume metrics table for a quick overview of key volume-related statistics and trends.

Pocket Pivot BreakoutPocket Pivot Breakout Indicator
The pocket pivot breakout indicator will show a blue arrow under the candle if both the following conditions are met:
1. The percentage change of the candle on that day from open is greater than 3%.
2. The volume on the day of 3% candle is higher than the highest red volume in the past 10 days.
The second condition is based on the 'Pocket Pivot' concept developed by Gil Morales and Chris Kacher.
If only one of the conditions is met, while the other is not, there will be no arrow.
How to use the Pocket Pivot Breakout indicator?
1. If the stock is breaking out of a proper base like (cup & handle, Darvas box etc.), you can use the blue arrow as an indicator to make your initial buy.
2. If you already own a stock, the blue arrow indicator can be used for pyramiding, following a continuation breakout from a proper base.
3. Avoid making a new entry or continuation entry if the stock is too extended from 10ma.
Gap-up > 0.5% Indicator
Gap-up Indicator displays a blue colored candle when a stock gaps up by more than 0.5% compared to previous day's close.
It is turned off by default. To activate it, check the box next to Gap-up > 0.5% in the indicator options.
How to use the Gap-up Indicator?
1. When a stock gaps up, it usually indicates strength, especially if on the day of the gap-up, the stock closes strongly.
2. This indicator should not be used in isolation but with a proper base breakout from a tight consolidation.
3. If a stock is already extended from 10ma, avoid taking any new or continuation entries.
Precautions
1. Avoid buying longs when the general market conditions are not favorable.
2. Avoid buying stocks below 200ma.
3. Avoid making a new entry or pyramid entry if a stock is too extended from 10ma.
Important Points
1. Always choose fundamentally strong stocks showing strong growth in earnings/margins/sales.
2. Buy these fundamentally strong stocks when they are breaking out of proper bases.
3. To learn more about pocket pivots and buyable gap-ups, read the book, Trade Like an O'Neil Disciple (by Gil Morales & Chris Kacher).

Volume With ColorVolume with color helps to quickly identify accumulation or distribution.
An accumulation day is an up day with volume greater than a user selected average.
A distribution day is a down day with volume greater than a user selected average.
This indicator will highlight those days by changing the volume bar colors for an easy visual.
Trend SuggestionsThis brings together a number of variables to produce trend predictions that could be utilized as decision-making tools.
Uses the aforementioned price and volume derivatives
- A moving average and three weighted moving averages (WMA1, WMA2, WMA3)
- Super Trend Line (ST)
- Opening Range Breakout on Five Minutes, Resistance Bands Pocket pivots, support, and price volume
he Direction is determined by the High and Low Bands of WMAs and the Supertrend Line, which are used to determine the Upper and Lower Lines around the Price. When the price passes below the lower boundary of the band, a downtrend is said to have begun.
Similarly, for an uptrend, this continues until the price passes over the upper edge of the band. Teal for an uptrend and fuchsia for a downturn area shared by the band to identify the trend.
The first five minutes of the breakout lines have a tiny buffer augmentation of 11% applied to them.
Based on what has been observed, support and resistance zones have been somewhat changed from the figures that are often utilized (might work other markets as well)
The markings that may be seen are as follows:
- Blue Triangle indicates a pocket pivot with an upward bias;
- Maroon Triangle indicates a pocket pivot with a downward bias;
- Teal colored Diamonds indicate price upthrusts and potential trend confirmation locations, depending on success or failure.
- Similar backdrop color changes that look as vertical shading are also used to identify them.
- Fuchsia-colored diamonds indicate price declines and a potential trend, depending on whether it persists or fails.
- Dark green and maroon square boxes indicate potential price reversals in the support and resistance bands, respectively.
It goes without saying that this work is derived from numerous other open-source community initiatives.
Feel free to adjust anything you'd like, and we appreciate any feedback.
Pocket Pivots and standard SMA/EMA'sThis script shows Pocket Pivots, up-days with higher volume than the last 9 down-days, directly on the chart below current and historic candles. Pocket pivots can be used to find early entry points within a base since it marks institutional buying. Pocket pivots are marked as black dots below the candle for easier identification.
The script is largely based on Gil Morales and Chris Kacher's method from their books "Trade Like an O'Neil Disciple" and "In The Trading Cockpit with the O'Neil Disciples". Other than pocket pivots, this script also includes the most common Simple and Exponential Moving Averages, and support/resistance lines as well as 3-weeks tight markup on the weekly chart.
This script contains:
- Pocket Pivots, black dots below the candles on all timeframes (Pocket Pivot = an up-day with greater volume than the last 9 down-days)
- Caution marks, red dots below the candles on all timeframes (Caution mark = close below the 10EMA)
- Simple moving averages
- Exponential moving averages
- Support/resistance lines
- 3-weeks tight markup on the weekly chart
Simple moving averages (editable):
- SMA 10
- SMA 20
- SMA 50
- SMA 200
Exponential moving averages (editable):
- EMA 4
- EMA 6
- EMA 10
- EMA 12
- EMA 21
Pocket PivotThe Pocket Pivot was originated by traders Gil Morales and Dr. Chris Kacher. A Pocket Pivot is a price and volume pattern that reveals an interest of institutional buyers. The indicator is best used when the stock is is a proper consolidation base and in a prior uptrend.
The indicator shows up when the following conditions are is true.
Current day's price has a close greater than the open.
Current day's volume is greater than previous 10 trading days.
Current day crosses up over the 10 day or 50 day SMA.
There are no changeable inputs other than color and shape. The script also does not check to see if the stock is in a proper base which allow the indicator to show up in other conditions.
I welcome your feedback and any enhancements you may suggest.
Advanced VolumeThis simple indicator improves upon the built in volume indicator by adding the following:
-Option to use an EMA instead of SMA
-Advanced Coloring: Lighter bars show growing volume, darker bars show falling volume. Gray bars show very low relative volume (less than or equal to 50% of the moving average), while bars which have a highlighted background have a high relative volume( you can choose the threshold level, default is 2 times the RVOL).
Enjoy!
Pocket PivotsPocket Pivots are described in the book "Trade like an O'Neil Discipline" by Dr. Chris Kacher and Gil Morales. There’s no exact definition of Pocket Pivots, but there is an exact definition for the volume signature: The volume should be higher than the largest down volume of the last 10 trading days.
This is a modification of Pocket Pivots. We use the level where the Pocket Pivot occurred and draw a zone across the chart until the criteria for another Pocket Pivot is met again. This way we can use them as support/resistance zones. Instead of the volume being higher than the volume for each of the previous periods, we just use an SMA of the volume and make sure the volume on the final candle is higher than the average for the previous periods. Last but not least, we have the possibility to draw support/resistance levels off the back of different counts. Seven-count for hyper-aggressive pocket pivots, eight-count for aggressive, nine for measured and ten for passive.
Hyper-aggressive Pocket Pivots
Aggressive Pocket Pivots
Measured Pocket Pivots
Passive Pocket Pivots
All
Using "All" to see all the pivots can be messy, but the confluence of support/resistance is more than helpful for defining truly important levels.
People have created a methodology/rules for buying and selling with Pivot Points, but as I understand there's no general consensus on their application, so please do some research before you decide to use them in your trading.
