stelaraX – RVI
stelaraX – Relative Vigor Index (RVI) is a momentum indicator designed to assess trend strength by comparing closing prices to opening prices relative to the overall trading range. It is based on the principle that, in strong trends, prices tend to close in the direction of the prevailing move.
This indicator is part of the stelaraX ecosystem, focused on clean technical analysis and AI-supported chart evaluation

Core logic
The Relative Vigor Index evaluates the relationship between price change (close versus open) and the total price range, smoothing both components to reduce noise.
Key principles:
* bullish vigor occurs when prices consistently close higher than they open
* bearish vigor occurs when prices consistently close lower than they open
* smoothing emphasizes sustained momentum rather than single-bar spikes
* values oscillate around a zero baseline
* a signal line is derived for confirmation of momentum shifts
Crossovers between the RVI and its signal line often highlight changes in trend momentum.
Visualization
The script plots:
* the Relative Vigor Index line in a separate indicator pane
* a smoothed signal line for confirmation
* a zero reference line for directional context
* individually configurable colors for both lines
This dual-line layout provides a clear view of momentum direction and strength.
Use case
This indicator is intended for:
* confirming trend direction and trend strength
* detecting early momentum shifts
* filtering trades in trend-following strategies
* spotting momentum divergences versus price
* supporting swing trading and momentum-based setups
It works best when combined with trend filters, structure analysis, or AI-assisted chart evaluation.
