Banks dont have trillions to burn. But even if they had, then, just to build another network between them, they would not be comfortable enabling 62% world domination through Ripple founders. (and 38% through a few 1000 early/private/annoymous investors). They could just define another "XRPi" for them (i for instituts) or anything. The existing network SWIFT just lists $20million netprofits per year.
