The first week of trading on the simulator was exciting, full of mistakes and sometimes lucky.
I have no idea where I got this ticker info from, but it was a very good one to start the week with.
I placed a "buy at market open" on the evening of 2JAN17 for 500 shares. I got it at 38.80.
I watched it gain the next day and got very excited. Then my excitement turned to nervousness.
I didn't want to lose all that I had gained so I ordered a "trailing stop" at 50 cents. My position closed at 40.02.
I made a profit of $610 minus fees and was very proud.
Looking back, I can't help but laugh. I didn't do any type of evaluation. I didn't have any plan. It was only luck.
Now my plan is to watch this stock...it has positive momentum! I'll learn about indicators, evaluate the chart and make an educated decision about when to enter next time.
