I would like to see gold rise but the recent inflation statistics are not helping. The unceasing efforts of western economies to reflate by printing more money will surely cause hyperinflation and thus cause rising gold prices. Other asset classes are responding to economic stimulus e.g. property prices but not gold. Maybe the opportunity cost of holding gold makes it unattractive and gold is being sold to purchase other physical assets with rising prices. It would be comforting if gold could get back to $1,200 as your chart suggests. I will watch with interest.
