More importantly ! wave 5 cannot be shorter than wave 3 ! and bigger fuzz is which wave of which wave are you considering !!! EWT adds more complications rather than simplifying stuffs !

Assumming that wave 3 extended is subdivided can you see any extension in subdivided wave 2-3, where subdivided 3 wave is not the shortest of 1,3 and 5 th waves. If you draw channel between 2 and 3 you will notice that the wave 2 to 3 is corrective and not impulsive.
Please recheck the 3 rd wave for all Elliot subdivided wave rules.
